Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about CopyCruise

CopyCruise captures text you copy using Ctrl+C (or Cmd+C on Mac) and text copied via "Copy" buttons on websites. It does NOT capture anything copied outside Chrome, like from native apps or the system clipboard.

Absolutely. All your clipboard data is stored locally on your device using IndexedDB. We don't have servers to send your data to. There's no cloud sync, no analytics, and no tracking. Your data never leaves your computer.

CopyCruise automatically blocks clipboard capture on popular password manager websites like Bitwarden, 1Password, LastPass, and Dashlane. You can also add your own sites to the blocklist in settings.

By default, CopyCruise stores up to 200 items, but you can increase this to 1,000 in settings. The extension also enforces a 100MB storage cap to keep things running smoothly.

Yes! CopyCruise has powerful search with filters. You can search by text content, filter by content type (text, URL, code), filter by source website, search by tags, filter by date range, and find pinned items.

Text snippets let you create shortcuts that expand into full text. For example, you can set up ';addr' to automatically expand into your full address when typed in any text field. It's like a text expander built right into your clipboard manager.

Yes! CopyCruise is fully compatible with Chrome. It works with any Chromium-based browser including Chrome, Brave, Edge, and Opera.

Yes, CopyCruise is completely free and open source. There are no premium features, no subscriptions, and no ads. You can view the source code on GitHub.
